Answer It From the Notes
"I think so" and "I found out" are two different sentences. Only one of them can be checked.
When you write to answer a real question, you gather first and write second. Notes can come from a book, from a person you asked, or from something you watched happen — and the writing has to show which fact you leaned on.
Here are notes about why some birds fly south for the winter. Insects and seeds get scarce once the cold comes. A bird can lose body heat fast because it is small. Some birds fly more than two thousand miles and return to the same tree in spring. Use the notes, and anything you have seen yourself, to answer this: why do birds leave, and how do they know it is time?
Write at least 5 sentences.
- Uses at least one fact or example from the notes
- Gives the reason the notes support
- Does not copy the same sentence twice
- A closing sentence that answers the question
