The Wobbly Table

Every lunch, the table in Maya's classroom wobbled. When she set down her cup, the water shook and spilled a little. Maya looked under the table to see why.
One leg was shorter than the others. It did not touch the floor all the way. Maya folded a napkin into a thick, flat square. She slid it under the short leg.
She pressed on the table. It did not wobble anymore. Her water stayed still. Maya smiled, because she had fixed it herself.
